I AM. WE ARE.
“TO BE YOURSELF IN A WORLD THAT IS CONSTANTLY TRYING TO MAKE YOU SOMETHING ELSE IS THE GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT.”

-RALPH WALDO EMERSON
The "I AM. We Are." Campaign was built on the idea of eliminating the fear of people being themselves. Today, the newer generations seem to be faced with more and more cases of depression, social anxiety, eating disorders and other harmful mental disorders. There is no doubt that some of the contributing factors lay within our society. The negative impact that society has comes from how we have made all these strict rules that make what is "acceptable" so inclusive. Poor self-image, low self-esteem, and psychological disorders are the result of such a society.

By individually showing what we are confident about, we may inspire others to no longer feel like they are under par or unacceptable. Through coming together, showing our differences, which actually may turn out to be more of similarities, and simply just being proud of ourselves, we can change society, because ultimately WE ARE SOCIETY. When someone feels negatively about him/heself, we often blame society. Yet we are what makes society what it is. We can change the way society impacts people.

This campaign strives to encourage individuals to embrace who they are ("I AM.") in hopes of redefining our society ("We Are.") so that maybe we will see a day where no one is ashamed to be themselves.
